Progression update time

It has been some time since our last post here. Since then we have had some crazy changes within the guild, and while we were ironing those out, our WoW blog posts were a bit stagnant.  As you can probably see, SW:TOR has kicked into full swing, and this caused a bit of internal updating, shuffling, and general kerfuffle as people figured out what their “main” game was.  Some went to SW:TOR (including all the old WoW officers) and some stuck around with the long tail WoW has.  But all of us stayed with Southern Wardens – in fact, Southern Wardens has grown as a community! Officer Shakeup Southern Wardens in WoW is being run by a mostly new group of officers.  These officers are: Guildmaster Benalis Raidleader Catseyes PvP organiser Phyllixia Officer who didn’t step back fast enough Brangwen Old guard representative Tiggralisa The  previous WoW officership (of many many years) have mostly moved fulltime to SWTOR.   A half of them are now what we are calling Southern Wardens Community Officers (as well as SW:TOR officers) and some have hung up their officering boots altogether.  Once the dust settles, I am sure we will sort out the website to reflect all this change in a greater capacity than it does right now.  We really are still a guild work in progress. 10man Raiding Progress SW currently have a tight knit raiding team.  Given the shakeup of SW:TOR and the proximity to Christmas, 4.3 content was not really started by our raiding team until mid January, an unprecedented almost month and a half after the content was released....

Our Server: The Harbinger

If you’re looking to join Southern Wardens, and you didn’t sign up with us in the Pre-Launch Guild HQ program, you can find us on The Harbinger. It’s a US-West PvE server, and is one of the two servers selected by the Oceanic community to be our home in SWTOR. See you...

Southern Wardens Wants You!

Southern Wardens is recruiting! We are currently looking for: * 2x Ranged DPS – boomkin, elemental shaman, mage or shadow priest. * 1x Melee DPS – enhancement shaman, rogue or DPS warrior. Classes/specs not listed are not being sought; however, we will consider all applications except for tanking specs. About Us Southern Wardens is an Australian Alliance PvE guild on US-Proudmoore founded when WoW was launched. Our raiding team is progression-focused; although we’re not hardcore, we do take raiding seriously. We started our WotLK raiding in mid-January; we’ve cleared everything except Kel’thuzad and Malygos. We’re currently building our raiding force to finish off T7 content, work on Achievement progression, and prepare for the launch of Ulduar. Who We’re Looking For Our ideal raiders: – are serious about raiding, and willing to put in the time and effort required to succeed – are flexible and willing to accept feedback – are motivated to perform well, improve wherever possible, and stay informed about their class, spec, and the raiding game in general – are willing to debate cake vs pie, discuss the personal hygiene of gnomes, and blame the mage for every accidental pull Please note that we need at least 75% attendance at official raid nights – Sunday, Monday and Wednesday nights, from ~7pm AEST to ~11pm AEST, plus or minus for daylight savings. We’re looking, specifically, for people who are potentially interested in staying with us for the long haul. We don’t have much in the way of turnover, and many of our guildmembers have been with us for years. (We’re like the Hotel California, really.) What We Offer...

We’re Back!

It’s been a while since Southern Wardens had any news to share with the world. After calling an early halt to TBC raiding, we took things easy until Wrath was released – alting it up, retro raids, PvPing our faces off, you know how it goes. That all changed with the release of Wrath of the Lich King. Everyone threw themselves into levelling with a vengeance, and our first group of level 80s have been laying waste to 10-man raid content for just over a month now. As planned, we fielded our first 25-man raid last night. Despite the new faces (and the fact that many of our group had never seen Naxxramas in any incarnation), the team did very well, clearing the Spider Wing with only a few wipes along the way. So, that’s the Spider Wing cleared – great work from all our team, and stay posted for more first kills coming soon to a Southern Wardens blog near...

(This is an anti-spam measure, unfortunately.) Big Dead Fishy.

Why progress in one zone when you can progress in two? We took our first guild steps in Serpentshrine Cavern two weeks ago for a quick look-see after a Gruul’s Lair clear. Last week we got a couple of really good attempts in on the Lurker, and we consolidated all that last night with a decisive kill. Congrats to Vortron and Torqya on their new boots, and Byza on his new bracers. I’d also like to take this opportunity to welcome our new guild members. SPQR was a great guild and we were proud to be associated with it, and we’re happy to provide a new home for those ex-SPQR people who chose to come across and join us in Southern Wardens. Welcome aboard, guys – friendly abuse and teabags for all!...
